Cara Ellis, MD, is a board-certified family medicine physician who emphasizes preventive care for all of her patients. Dr. Ellis earned her medical degree at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine, and then completed her internship and residency at Oregon Health & Science University. She chose a career in medicine after volunteering with a family practitioner during college. "I fell in love with the idea of solving problems, helping people and getting to know patients over time.” Dr. Ellis believes that the most important thing she can do is, “listen to my patients, guide them through illness and health, and always act as their advocate." She enjoys taking care of all ages, from newborns to the elderly. She also has a special interest in women's health. While born in Glasgow, Scotland, Dr. Ellis spent most of her childhood in North Carolina. Away from the office, she enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, watching movies, cooking spicy food and knitting.
