Aylin Acosta, Psy.D., is a psychologist at Rimland Outpatient Behavioral Health in Bellingham. She completed both a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology and a Doctor in Clinical Psychology at the University of Indianapolis. Dr. Acosta completed an internship and post-doctoral training at Utah State Hospital in Provo, Utah. She has previously worked in inpatient psychiatric facilities, residential treatment centers and outpatient clinics. Her clinical interests include the assessment and treatment of personality disorders, complex trauma, psychotic disorders, depression and anxiety.

Her previous research has focused on examining healthcare disparities within the Latino/Hispanic population. She is comfortable providing services to adolescents and adults. “My approach to care is grounded in a deep commitment to individualized, evidence based treatment that respects each person’s unique history, cultural background and lived experience,” she said. “I believe in fostering a therapeutic environment that is safe, collaborative and nonjudgmental.”

Dr. Acosta is fluent in Spanish as well as English.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time outdoors, hiking, camping and taking her dog on long walks, as well as traveling, reading and spending time with family and friends.
