Facility Master Plan

PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center has embarked on an effort to enhance and improve its main campus facilities in order to continue to meet the changing needs of our community now and into the future.  As we launch a Master Facility Planning process in the Spring of 2018, the primary objectives are to:

  • Replace/expand emergency room for improved access and functionality
  • Convert semi-private rooms to private rooms
  • Improve wayfinding and pedestrian crossings, and
  • Provide additional parking

What is an institutional master plan?

  • Establishes a framework for the physical development of St. Joseph Medical Center
  • Delineates definite boundaries and development parameters for institutional types of uses
  • Ensures orderly, phased development of appropriate uses
  • Identifies & reduces the impacts of institutional development on surrounding areas
  • Ensures the adequacy of city utilities, streets & other services to & within institutional areas as they develop

  • Ensures development of institutional areas which is compatible with the physical features of those areas

Questions?

We know that changes to the main medical campus will be of interest to our community, especially to our neighbors, and it's our goal to make this as open and transparent a process as possible.  We look forward to citizen involvement at the City-sponsored hearings and at the Cornwall Neighborhood meetings.  In the meantime, please contact Beverly Mayhew, director of strategic communications & engagement, if you have any questions or comments.  Bev can be reached at bmayhew@peacehealth.org.
