PeaceHealth Medical Group provides surgical care of the highest quality to the ill and injured of the Lower Columbia Region. We want our patients to be so satisfied with our service that they recommend us to their family and friends. We treat all who come to us, without discrimination on the basis of socio-economic status.

PeaceHealth Medical Group provides General, Thoracic, Vascular, Colorectal, Surgical Oncology (cancer), Breast, Plastic and Reconstructive and Cosmetic services for patients in the Lower Columbia Region.
The surgeons in the group collaborate to ensure continuous care as well as 24-hour emergency coverage.

Dr. Roger Grummel originates from Tacoma, Washington. He attended the University of Puget Sound, graduating in 1951. He received his medical degree from the University of Oregon (now Oregon Health & Science University) in Portland in 1954. Dr. Grummel completed his internship and residency in General Surgery at the U.S. Public Health Hospital on Staten Island, New York, in 1959. He served as a lieutenant and surgeon in the United States Health Department in Oklahoma, New York, and Seattle, Washington. He is board certified in General Surgery. Dr. Grummel returned to the Northwest, founding Longview General Surgery in 1962. Dr. Grummel distinguished himself in his pursuit of medical excellence and oversaw the development of Longview General Surgery into Longview Surgical Group, a nine physician multi-specialty surgical practice. He retired in 1997 to spend time traveling with his wife, Julia, and enjoy his grandchildren.
Dr. Mel Ofstun was born in Eastman, Wisconsin. He attended Luther College in Decatur, Iowa, graduating in 1952. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin Medical School in 1956. He spent his internship and residency at the University of Washington in Seattle. Dr. Ofstun served as a captain in the U.S. Air Force. He is board certified in General Surgery and Vascular Surgery. He joined Dr. Roger Grummel at Longview General and Thoracic Surgery in 1963. Dr. Ofstun personified selfless service and was an example in respect for all people. He retired in 1997 and remains active in the community with his wife, Marge, and his children and grandchildren.
Dr. John Kenagy attended the University of Nebraska College of Medicine, graduating in 1971. The Pacific Northwest was appealing and he attended the University of Washington, training in General Surgery. He is board certified in General and Vascular Surgery. He joined Longview Surgical Group in 1976. He continued his interest in healthcare management and served as Director of the Vascular Lab at St. John Hospital and Chairman of the PeaceHealth Medical Center Executive Group, in addition to chairing a variety of boards and teams whose goals were to improve the healthcare process for patients. Dr. Kenagy left Longview Surgical Group in 1997 to pursue improving healthcare on a larger scale with Harvard University. Dr. Kenagy always advocated for the patient and enriched the culture at Longview Surgical Group with his energy and creativity.
Dr. Cynthia Jolly was born in Stubenville, Ohio. She graduated magna cum laude with her Bachelor of Arts degree from Gustavus Adolphus College in 1979. She also studied in Balsta, Sweden at Nordens Folkhogskola in 1979. She completed her medical degree at Ohio State University in 1984. Dr. Jolly completed her internship and surgical residency training at St. Frances Hospital / University of Connecticut in 1989. She did her plastic and reconstructive surgery residency at Ohio State University from 1989 to 1991. Dr. Jolly is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Jolly joined the staff at Longview Surgical Group in 1991, where she provided the finest personalized care until she retired in 2005, to spend more time with her family.
Dr. Homayon Hajari emigrated from Iran in his early teens and grew up in Eugene, Oregon. He attended the University of Oregon in Eugene, graduating in 1983 with a Master’s degree in Science. He received his medical degree from the Oregon Health & Science University, in Portland, in 1987. He completed his residency in General Surgery at OHSU in 1993 and a fellowship in Vascular Surgery at the University of Massachusetts in 1995. He is board-certified in both General Surgery and in Vascular Surgery. Dr. Hajari joined Longview Surgical Group in 1995 where his warm personality and in-depth knowledge of procedures put his patients at ease. Dr. Hajari left Longview Surgical Group in 2001, when he and his family moved out of the Longview area.
