Relay for Life 2009
The 2009 American Cancer Society Relay for Life was held August 12-13 at the Cowlitz County Fairgrounds.
The relay unites our community in a common effort to support the American Cancer Society’s lifesaving mission to eliminate cancer as a major health problem. The Society works every day to prevent cancer and save lives by supporting groundbreaking research, affecting public policies that protect us from cancer, and educating people on how to prevent or detect cancer early. The Society helps people in our community who have cancer through its many programs and services. Together, we can help the American Cancer Society accelerate the progress toward a cancer-free future.
Pink Cowboys at the Rodeo
Spectators and many cowboys proudly wore pink during the "Tough Enough to Wear Pink" event at the Thunder Mountain Pro Rodeo on August 1st, 2009. The show of pink is a show of support for patients and families who are battling breast cancer.
The Columbia Regional Breast Center is one of a small percentage of breast center across the U.S. offering digital mammography, proven to be more effective in helping identify certain types of breast cancer.
