In Lower Columbia

PeaceHealth's presence in the Lower Columbia Region of the Pacific Northwest began in 1943 as a ministry of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace when the Sisters purchased and reopened a failed acute care hospital.

Our Healing Mission

For over 50 years, the healing mission of these dedicated Sisters has provided for residents of Southwestern Washington and Northwestern Oregon. Today, this vision has expanded to include physician office clinics as well as St. John Medical Center.

St. John Medical Center provides the most comprehensive set of inpatient and outpatient services in the region. Serving a geographic area larger than the states of Connecticut and Rhode Island combined, the medical center focuses on delivering services with a personal touch.

As a member of the PeaceHealth Regional Delivery System, St. John Medical Center's role is two-fold: to provide needed emergency and acute healthcare services and to champion initiatives and programs that enhance the health of the community overall. We are committed to the highest quality patient care at the lowest possible cost.

Our employees are committed to quality measured in terms of good customer service, clinical outcomes and our relationship with the community.

Our goal is to carry out our mission and to care for the community. We've also committed to proactively meet the challenges in the delivery of healthcare. Our regional delivery system allows us to more closely meet the needs of our customers.
