Volunteering with Hospice of Sacred Heart

Hospice volunteers are special, compassionate and sensitive individuals from all walks of life who are committed to serving the terminally ill and their families.

The Hospice interdisciplinary team consists of a medical director, nurses, social workers, chaplains, home health aides and trained volunteers. You can become part of the team! Hospice provides intensive training and education twice a year.

If you have good listening and communication skills, are flexible, possess a nonjudgmental attitude, have a willingness to serve, and have not had a significant personal loss with the past year, you are invited to attend an orientation, with no obligation.

To become a Hospice volunteer, read the Volunteer Patient Care Job Description (pdf) and download the PeaceHealth Volunteer application(pdf). Send it along with the Hospice Volunteer Questionnaire (pdf).
