Conditions Treated

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is used to treat many illnesses, often as part of a combined program including antibiotics or surgery.

 

 

 

 

Conditions include the following:

  • Carbon monoxide poisoning
  • Decompression sickness (the bends)
  • Air bubbles in the blood
  • Wounds that won’t heal, including diabetic foot wounds
  • Radiation tissue injury
  • Gangrene
  • Crush injury
  • Certain kinds of skin and bone infections that cause tissue death
  • Severe anemia
  • Sudden sensorineural hearing loss
