Pediatric Telemedicine
Pediatric telemedicine allows our staff to consult on traumas and serious illnesses with pediatric intensivists at Doernbecher Pediatric Intensive Care Unit in Portland. As a result of this relationship, nearly one-third of patients who would otherwise be transported to Portland are able to stay at Sacred Heart for their care.
Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
Our Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) has separate rooms for each neonate, a team of five experienced neonatologists and specially trained NICU nursing staff.
A dedicated transport team with experienced NICU nurses and staff accepts referrals from outside Eugene/Springfield. Pediatric-trained anesthesiologists provide anesthesia for children and neonates in a pediatric-dedicated operating room.
Parents are encouraged to accompany children during surgery prep and recovery. After surgery, pediatric nurses care for the child in the Pediatrics and Adolescent Care Unit, designed to enhance healing for children of all ages, from infants to young adults.
