PeaceHealth to award community grants

PeaceHealth will award three $1,000 community grants to support breast cancer prevention and education programs as part of its sponsorship and support of the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in Eugene on Oct. 21, 2012. These grants are available to nonprofit organizations in support of one-time activities related to breast cancer awareness and education.

“PeaceHealth is striving to empower health care professionals to enhance breast cancer awareness in their communities through opportunities to educate women about breast health and access to quality medical services,” explained Susan Blane, PeaceHealth’s Director of Outreach.
Previous awardees include:
• Cow Creek Health & Wellness Center, Roseburg
• Project H.E.R (Help. Enlightenment. Resources.), Corvallis
• Douglas County Health & Social Services, Public Health Division
A simple application is required to apply for the grant.
Applications are available at this link and must be postmarked or received via electronic mail by Oct. 12, 2012. The Sacred Heart Medical Center Community Health Grant Committee will review applications and awardees will be notified on or after Oct. 19, 2012.
