Diabetic Eye Care

Diabetics have to watch for many potential risks associated with their condition, with more than 40% of diabetics developing eye disease at some point in their lifetime. Eye diseases are more likely, including diabetic retinopathy, cataracts and glaucoma.

Damage to the eye can occur before noticing anything. Risks can be reduced by scheduling regular eye exams and controlling blood sugar levels by eating right and taking part in regular exercise. Blood pressure and blood cholesterol levels should also be monitored closely to minimize the risk of permanent vision damage.
