PHMG: POW Celebrates Two Years of Service

5/3/2012

It’s said that good things come in twos. After two years of service and with two permanent providers on board—Dr. Ballard and Joseph Burke, ANRP—PeaceHealth Medical Group: POW agrees!

This month the clinic in Craig celebrates two years of serving the Prince of Wales communities. The opening ceremonies held on May 22, 2010, marked the beginning of a partnership with the City of Craig. Through this partnership, PeaceHealth’s vision is to provide every person with safe, compassionate care.

Since 2010, PeaceHealth has offered primary care, lab, diagnostic imaging, visiting physicians exam rooms, opportunities for telemedicine, and advanced electronic medical record connecting the clinic with the PeaceHealth system. The clinic also brings specialist care to the community, like the visiting Orthopedic Medicine specialist, Dr. David Brown, who will be seeing patients at the clinic on May 11. Other programs such as Diabetes Education and a Volunteer Hospice are also available.

Recently, PeaceHealth POW welcomed a new permanent Family Medicine provider, Dr. Patrick Ballard, to the team and community. As a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Ballard’s is a perfect fit for practicing medicine in a rural setting with training in internal medicine, obstetrics, gynecology, pediatrics, family practice, surgery, psychiatry, emergency medicine, radiology, preventative medicine and public health.

With two years’ experience under their belt and two permanent providers on staff, the future of health care on Prince of Wales is bright.
