(Florence, OR)— If holiday decorations are coming down and that wreath is heading into the trash pile, consider recycling it with Peace Harbor Hospice.
Each year, PeaceHealth Peace Harbor Hospice volunteers craft wreaths to take to patients for the holidays. This year, volunteer coordinator Donna Becker had a difficult time finding enough wreath forms to fulfill the need.
She is hoping that people who are taking down Christmas wreaths and throwing them out might donate those forms to the program.
“It brings such a light to these patients,” Becker said. “When we bring the wreath to the door it puts a smile on their face.”
This year, Becker had 15 patients who received wreaths. “Our volunteers spend a day putting the wreaths together,” she said. “Then members of the Hospice team take them to our patients to enjoy.”
Anyone who has old wreaths to donate can call Becker at the Hospice office, 541-997-3418 or drop them off at the office, which is located at 310 Ninth Street in the PeaceHealth Peace Harbor Hospice complex.
