Respiratory care therapists provide services to patients with cardiopulmonary system abnormalities. They assist under the direction of a licensed physician and as part of a health care team.

Inpatient Therapy

Inpatient services are provided in all hospital areas. This includes the Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, and the general patient units for newborn, pediatric and adult patients. Inpatient Respiratory Care and Neonatal Transport services are provided on a 24-hour basis.

Outpatient Testing

The Respiratory Outpatient Services Department provides services for complete Pulmonary Function Tests (PFT). This includes Spirometry, how well air can flow in and out of a person's lungs; DLCO, the ability of a patient’s lungs to transfer gases; and Lung Volume Testing.

Other outpatient testing services are EEG's, Arterial blood gases, Outpatient EKG's, overnight home sleep oximetry, and treadmill stress tests — including exercise, exercise with nuclear medicine, Lexiscan, and Dobutamine.

Our Expertise

Trained and licensed respiratory therapists are available 24 hours a day to assist the nursing staff and physicians in assessing and providing therapy for inpatient respiratory problems.

This clinic is licensed as part of PeaceHealth Ketchikan Medical Center. You may receive a separate charge or billing for facility fees in addition to any professional fees for services, which may result in a higher out-of-pocket expense.
