Housing For Patients' Families

We want you to be comfortable while you're in townA lot of people from communities around southern Southeast Alaska come to Ketchikan to seek medical care, be it elective surgery, specialty visit or dental care. While some insurance plans may cover the cost of housing while in Ketchikan for care, others may not (contact your insurance plan to verify your coverage).

Several years ago, Rotary 2000 and PeaceHealth Ketchikan Medical Center Foundation joined together to create a low-cost housing alternative. The housing provided through this partnership has changed over time, but the outcome is still the same—low- to no-cost housing is available on a needs basis for those coming to Ketchikan for care.

For those patients and families who do not have coverage for housing while in Ketchikan, please contact our House Supervisor at (907) 254-5163, to discuss your needs and options so that arrangements can be made at a nearby hotel.

For those patients with insurance that will cover their stay, housing is available at a number of local hotels. We ask that you utilize your insurance plan benefits, to cover the cost of your stay. This ensures that we have the funds that we need to
