#GivingTuesday is a global giving movement that has been built by individuals, families, organizations, businesses and communities in countries around the world. Millions of people come together on one day to financially support and champion the causes they believe in and the communities in which they live. In honor of Giving Tuesday, we are raising funds to support the Hearts to Soles Program and ask for your generous support.

The Hearts to Soles Program is a longstanding community collaboration between PeaceHealth, Superfeet Worldwide and Cornerstone Prosthetics and Orthopedics. All of us believe that foot health is an essential part of everyday life.

Hearts to Soles will hold an event this month which will provide new boots, warm socks and foot exams to men, women, and children who are underserved or experience homelessness in Whatcom County. Hot coffee and snacks, flu shots, foot care kits and access to community resources will be provided. This event is a preemptive measure to not only treat individuals with respect and dignity, but also spare them potential trips to the emergency room for non-life threatening conditions. Our clients spend months in wet shoes and socks and as a result can develop some major health complications from poor foot hygiene. In 2017 Hearts to Soles served 403 men, women and children. This year event organizers are preparing for 475 people. Together, Hearts to Soles will answer the call as we did last year with a staff of 65 volunteers, many of whom worked an 8 to 10-hour day.

Your gift to Hearts to Soles will provide:

  • Medical equipment and foot care kits
  • Flu vaccines
  • Boots
  • Facility space, security and administrative support
  • Medical foot care equipment
