Critical Needs

Your help makes a difference.

While many of the programs and departments at PeaceHealth Southwest rely in part on philanthropic support, the Foundation focuses on a few each year in order to raise the most funds for what has been determined to be the Medical Center’s most critical needs. Which of the following are you most interested in?

Heart & Vascular Center: The Foundation recently gave $500,000 (Area of Greatest Need funds) to help begin the funding of our new cardiac catheterization lab. We are committed to raising an additional $500,000 this year to secure the most advanced technology for life-saving heart procedures like angioplasty and stent replacement. This project will also upgrade our Electrophysiology Lab, used for procedures like the implantation of pacemakers and devices that eliminate electrical currents in the heart that cause irregular rhythms.

Neurosciences Institute: This Institute will provide the finest care available for neurological diseases and brain trauma. Plans call for 23 private patient rooms and a rehab unit featuring physical therapy and family gathering areas. This project recently benefited from a $500,000 (Area of Greatest Need funds) Foundation grant, and is relying upon another $500,000 in donor funds this year.

Hospice Programs: PeaceHealth Southwest offers a comprehensive network of end-of-life programs that meet the medical, spiritual and emotional needs of approximately 2,000 individuals annually. Included are: Ray Hickey Hospice House, Hospice Southwest, Bridges Palliative Care Program and Hope Bereavement Program.

Area of Greatest Need: This critical fund allows our Board and Administration to respond to the most urgent needs of our patients, hospital and community.
