Fly Away to Paris at Far Above Jewels 2012

Peace Harbor Hospital’s annual Far Above Jewels event sent people on a trip to Paris—figuratively and literally.

The theme for this year’s benefit was “Springtime in Paris,” and guests were treated to a glimpse of the French city as soon as they walked in the door. Tables were decorated with different French-inspired themes—such as farmers market or fish market—and guests dressed in their finest clothes.
The all-female crowd bid on jewelry, art and handbags while sipping wine and munching hors d’oeuvres. Michele Douglass, Foundation Relations Specialist at Peace Harbor, estimated there were 120 prize packages available this year—almost all from local donations.
Raffle tickets were also available, and the winner got to choose from three great prizes: a gold and emerald necklace, a week at Eagle Crest Resort in Redmond, and an all-expenses paid trip to Paris.
“Far Above Jewels is a unique and fun event that gets better every year,” Michelle says. “We have a committee of 10 ladies that knock it out of the park every time.”
The fund-raiser, which took place on June 2 at Three Rivers Casino & Hotel in Florence, brought in more than $20,000 in donations. Funds will be used to purchase new surgical equipment for the hospital.
