Lora C. Sherman MD

Lora Sherman, MD, joined the PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center Palliative Care team in April 2017. Prior to moving to Bellingham in 1999, Dr. Sherman worked with Doctors Without Borders in Burma and the Puyallup Tribal Health Authority in Tacoma, Washington. After moving to Bellingham, Dr. Sherman worked as a family practice doctor at Sea Mar Community Health Center for 10 years and speaks medical Spanish. More recently, she worked as a hospitalist at PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center and continued to work part-time at Sea Mar as a psychiatric medicine provider. She was recognized as PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center’s 2014 Physician of Excellence. As part of the Palliative Care team at PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center, she works together with nursing, social work and chaplain staff to help patients and families manage symptoms and complicated healthcare decisions. The goal is to develop a health care plan that values quality of life. Dr. Sherman loves spending time with her two hilarious, imaginative children. She also enjoys hiking, cross country skiing, biking, reading and baking.
