Sandhya M. Gelou MD

We welcomed Sandhya M. Gelou, MD, to the PeaceHealth Medical Group- Fairhaven Plaza Clinic Family Medicine team of providers in 2019.

Prior to joining PeaceHealth, Dr. Gelou practiced as a primary care physician, diabetologist and obesity medicine specialist at Eisenhower Health in Rancho Mirage, California. She is originally from Long Island, New York.

Her most recent research focused on a pilot study with diabetes sensor devices. This helped these devices receive FDA approval. She was recognized with an Above and Beyond Shining Star Family Medicine Award in 2015.

“I am passionate about providing the tools to help patients improve their lives one small step at a time,” she said.

Dr. Gelou is fluent in Tamil and speaks medical Spanish. When she isn’t caring for patients, she enjoys reading, hiking and fitness. She also loves music. She is a trained vocalist in jazz, opera, a capella and Indian classical.
