Course Overview

Critical Care Transport (CCT) is a level of care designed to meet the needs of critically ill patients during transit from one location to another. The specialized body of CCT knowledge and the scope of practice of the Critical Care Transport Professional (CCTP) is beyond the traditional paramedic training level, as defined by federal and State authorities.

This course will be an academic course, taught exclusively online.  The course will follow the curriculum of the text published in conjunction with American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) and the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) and endorsed by the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) and the International Association of Flight and Critical Care Paramedics (IAFCCP). The text meets the curricula of the UMBC program, 2015 CPR/ECC guidelines, and the objectives of the FP-C and CCP-C professional certification through examination by the International Board of Specialty Certification for paramedics.

Also, the paramedic will earn State of Oregon Health Authority, and Nationally Registry certified continuing education CE units for each hour of live participation in the program.  The program will be approximately 80 hours in length, which could vary, given the needs of the students.
