Dr. Sweeney is a cardiologist at Oregon Heart & Vascular Institute. She treats heart failure, coronary artery disease, valve disease and arrhythmias. She uses heart imaging tests that are not invasive. This means surgery isn't needed to see how the heart works. These tests include echocardiography and nuclear cardiology. She also does cardiac catheterizations to check blood flow and heart function. Dr. Sweeney is board certified in four areas. Her certifications are in cardiovascular diseases, internal medicine, echocardiography and nuclear cardiology. Board certification is a national standard. It shows that she offers high quality care and stays current with her field. Dr. Sweeney trained at top medical programs. Her medical degree is from the University of Pennsylvania, an Ivy League school. She did her internal medicine residency at Vanderbilt University. She then did her cardiology fellowship at the University of Washington. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, baking, traveling and spending time with her family.
