Landon Roussel, MD, joined the PeaceHealth Ketchikan hospitalist team in May 2022, providing care for patients admitted to the hospital. He possesses a special interest and experience in critical care as well as hospice and palliative medicine. Dr. Roussel share that his goal is to “help those in need and do so with a kind and gentle heart.” Dr. Roussel joins us most recently from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where he wore many hats. Dr. Roussel founded and served as the lead physician for Commnitas Primary Care direct primary care practice. He also served as the medical director for a local hospice organization and a hospitalist for St. James Parish Hospital. He has also extended his service to teaching within the family medicine residency program at Tulane University. Dr. Roussel earned a master’s degree in bioethics prior to completing his medical training at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York, New York. He completed an internship in internal medicine at Harvard Medical School where he also completed his residency. Dr. Roussel is multi-lingual speaking English, Spanish, French and Italian. Dr. Roussel’s personal resume is as impressive as his professional resume. Dr. Roussel has walked the Way of St. James (El Camino de Santiago) four times. This Christian pilgrimage covers 500 miles across France and Spain. Dr. Roussel also enjoys hiking, fishing, snorkeling, Marvel movies and the Great British Bake Off. He is joined in Ketchikan by his wife and elementary-aged son and daughter.
