Nurse Anesthesiology, Certified Registered
Jason Asher, CRNA, joined the PeaceHealth Ketchikan anesthesiology team in March 2022. Jason brings with him significant experience in various aspects of anesthesia plus several years of experience as a registered nurse.
Jason comes to PeaceHealth Ketchikan from the University of Kansa Health System where he served as the lead CRNA in their Ambulatory Surgery Center. Prior to being the lead CRNA, Jason served as a CRNA for a Level 1 Trauma Center providing anesthetics for a variety of cases including general, neuro, ortho, OB/GYN, ENT, trauma, burns and more. Jason shared that while he enjoys all types of anesthesia, he does enjoy obstetrics because, “having a baby is a wonderful gift.” This vast experience makes him well-equipped to serve the broad scope of cases seen at Ketchikan Medical Center.
Jason received his Master of Science in nurse anesthesia from Samford University in Birmingham, AL, in 2015 where he was awarded the “most outstanding nurse anesthesia student.” He received his Bachelor of Science in nursing from the University of Missouri in Columbia, MO, in 2010 and earned a Bachelor of Science in biology in 2009 from Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, MO.
Jason is committed to volunteering and giving back to his community. He has served as a caregiver on several medical missions in Bangladesh and Haiti and has been an active member of a faith community.
He is joined in Ketchikan by his wife, Ashley, and their young son, Crosby. In addition to spending time with his family, Jason enjoys being active, exercising and being outside whether it’s hiking, camping or fishing. Jason and his family look forward to plugging into the community and being an asset to both the hospital and the town.
