Jaime Aranda-Michel MD

Dr. Jaime Aranda-Michel is triple board-certified in Gastroenterology, Hepatology and liver transplantation, and Medical Nutrition. He has been awarded fellowships from both The American Gastroenterological Association (AGA) and The American Association for the Study of Liver Disease (AASLD). Prior to moving to the Northwest, he was a Professor of Medicine, Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Transplantation at Mayo Clinic. His pursuit of medical knowledge has taken him around the globe, including Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico, and Monash University in Melbourne, Australia. In the United States he studied at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, and the University of Alabama. "I am fortunate that I was able to work in different countries and in different health care systems throughout my career, such as Australia, Mexico, and the USA." Dr. Aranda-Michel’s goals as a physician is to empower patients and their families via education, consultation, and treatment, using evidence based-medicine. He is also passionate about applying the latest advances in science and technology to prevent and treat diseases. With education, residency and fellowships that span three continents, Dr. Aranda-Michel finds fulfillment in helping to heal people with compassion and dignity. One of his favorite parts of being a part of a healthcare system is working together to puts patients first. During his spare time, Dr. Aranda-Michel enjoys spending time with family, cooking, skiing, playing tennis, and traveling abroad.
