Preparation for Childbirth and Parenting Eight Session Class

Description: Bellingham Technical College. This traditional eight-session course covers late pregnancy, the process of labor and birth, labor coping skills (with many in-class practice sessions), newborn care and breastfeeding, postpartum and early parenting. Both mother-to-be and support person register for this course and the fee covers both. Please bring several pillows and a blanket or soft mat to class as part of each class is spent on the floor practicing relaxation and breathing techniques. Instructor: Terry Thalhofer. Prerequisite: Registration required. Reference class offering #8001 or #8002. Plan to begin this class by the sixth month of pregnancy. Washington Apple Health (Medicaid) does not cover this course fee.
