Insurance exchanges are a new way to find coverage that protects you and your family from large medical bills and helps you stay healthy.
Since Oct. 1, 2013, because of the Affordable Care Act, new options for health insurance are available. The changes mean that people who’ve not had access to affordable health insurance likely will be able to get coverage.
Who should shop for insurance on the marketplace/exchanges?
The insurance marketplaces are for people who:
- Don’t have health coverage.
- Can’t get affordable health coverage through work.
- Buy their own coverage and want a better option.
- Own a small business and employ 50 or fewer people.
If you would like to receive care from a PeaceHealth provider or medical center, be sure to choose an insurance plan that includes PeaceHealth.
