Peace Harbor Provider Recruitment

We Care

Thank you to everyone who was able to join us for our third Healthcare Town Hall on Sept. 13! We have compiled a list of the submitted questions, as well as our answers for the community. Please click here to view them.

Dear Neighbors,

Providing you and your loved ones with quality, compassionate care is at the heart of our mission. It has been our number one priority each and every day since PeaceHealth first joined our close-knit community more than 25 years ago.

Many of you have expressed concerns that we are falling short on this commitment. You continue to see primary care providers leave our medical center and our community, and this has created obstacles in access to care. We’re really sorry that we are in this situation. But, we want to assure you that we are doing everything we can to make it right.

Florence Doctor Recruiting

Physician Assistants (PAs), Nurse Practitioners (NPs) and Physicians

As we work to assign each of our community members with a provider, it is important to understand that PAs, NPs and physicians are all qualified to attend to your healthcare needs. Each are important caregivers qualified to assess and care for patients, and they work as a team to offer each patient comprehensive healthcare options. Learn more about these Advance Practice providers here.

What We’re Doing

  • We recruited 13 providers to Florence since Jan. 2016, with four additional providers scheduled to start by Fall 2018.
  • We assigned 6,000 community members to a new provider as of Sept. 2017.
  • We have implemented a walk-in clinic clock that now displays wait times, updated approximately once an hour. You can find this tool on our walk-in clinic page, our PeaceHealth Medical Group Florence page, or the WeCare page.
  • We are shifting toward “team medicine” to use the expertise of a broad range of medical professionals – including physician assistants and nurse practitioners – to ensure varied patient needs are met.
  • We are committed to hosting a Town Hall every quarter to hear about concerns, topics of interest, etc. - directly from you. We will work with the local media, and post updates on Facebook and this website to communicate once a date has been scheduled!

How You Can Help

Additionally, you can check this site frequently for real-time updates, answers to your questions and more.
