Dr. David Pichora reviews medical content for Healthwise, a nonprofit organization with a mission to help people make better health decisions. Dr. Pichora is a Professor in the departments of Surgery and Mechanical and Materials Engineering at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. He is also a member of the board of directors for Queen's University's Human Mobility and Research Center. Dr. Pichora's clinical interests include the hand and upper extremity, reconstructive microsurgery, orthopaedic trauma, and the elbow. His research interests include computer-assisted surgery, wrist and shoulder biomechanics, kinematic studies of the rheumatoid wrist, 3D motion and imaging studies of the upper extremity, and clinical outcome studies in orthopaedic trauma. Dr. Pichora is a past President of the Ontario Orthopaedic Association.
