Milliosmoles Per Kilogram of Water (mOsm/kg Water)

Some medical tests report results in milliosmoles per kilogram (mOsm/kg) of water.

  • An osmole is an amount of a substance that contributes to the osmotic pressure of a solution. A milliosmole is one-thousandth of an osmole.
  • A kilogram is about 2.2 pounds.
