Cancer Outreach
- The Cancer Outreach Program at the St. Joseph Cancer Center is beginning its
fifth year and continues to evolve with many of the thanks going to
valued volunteers in our community.
Patient Education Presentations
Cancer Education Series
- Free classes on a variety of subjects such as the biology of cancer,
treatment options, and self-care strategies helping people become full
partners in their therapy.

Support Groups
- Us Too!® Prostate Cancer discussion group
An educational forum and discussion group for men interested in
prostate cancer. Spouses and partners are welcome. Meets
the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at the St. Luke's
Health Education Center. For information contact Kathy at (360)

- Support Group for Women with Cancer
The group has a holistic mind/body/spirit approach to healing.
Participants share stories and identify resources, and support one
another in setting priorities and finding balance and meaning in the
cancer experience. Meets every Monday at 10:00 a.m. at the St.

- Kids Konnected
Kids Konnected
provides support meetings for children 4 - 18 years old who have
a parent with cancer or have lost a parent to cancer. Locally,
the monthly meeting is facilitated by a licensed social worker
and mental health councilor, Elizabeth Snyder. The group meets
every third Monday of the month at the St. Joseph Cancer Center
from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. (including holidays). For information

Support Services
- Wig and breast forms
Donated hats, scarves, and wigs are available for patients
experiencing temporary hair loss. A limited number of breast
prostheses and bras are also available.
- Holistic Healing
“Less stress”. “Deep relaxation”. “Like a wonderful glowing
radiance that flows through and around you.” This is how some
patients have described the experience of using massage, reiki,
acupuncture, guided imagery or energy healing to complement
their medical care. These calming therapies are available in a
comfortable and supportive setting to increase your sense of
well-being during cancer treatment. Our volunteers are
professional practitioners licensed in Washington State. Their
training includes a variety of healing modalities, which they
will adjust as needed for your comfort. Volunteers offer this as
a community service for anyone being treated for cancer on a
space-available basis. A signed physician statement is needed to
participate.
