Candidates for Spine Surgery

Is Spine Surgery Right for Me?

Many factors contribute to the decision to undergo spine surgery. Most patients will find some temporary relief through non-surgical treatments such as physical therapy, medications and steroid injections. If non-surgical measures have not adequately reduced or relieved the pain or the numbness associated with your condition, surgery may be a good option.

Medical imaging tests such as an MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) may be needed to accurately diagnose your condition. These tests, combined with your symptoms, will help determine the best course of treatment. Every patient and situation is different, so it is ultimately up to you and your doctor to decide if spine surgery is right for you.
