Classes
The clinic offers the following classes, which are taught by our certified diabetes educator nursing and dietitian staff. Click here to access the community calendar for exact dates.
Type 2 Diabetes Education Class
Classes are available to individuals with type 2 diabetes who have a doctor referral. The class covers: healthy eating; being active; monitoring blood glucose levels, including problem solving for high and low blood glucose numbers; taking and understanding medications; reducing risks; and healthy coping.
- When: Classes meet once per week for four weeks in a row on Tuesdays from 10:00 a.m.-noon or Thursdays from 2:00-4:00 p.m. We occasionally offer evening or off-site classes. Contact us for scheduled dates.
- Location: PeaceHealth Nutrition and Diabetes Clinic (809 E. Chestnut)
- Cost: There is a cost to participate, which can be covered by insurance. Individuals that meet the financial need requirements could be eligible to participate for free or at a reduced cost (click here to learn more about PeaceHealth's Bridge Assistance program).
- Register: A doctor's referral is required to participate and registration is required. Contact us for more information.
PeaceHealth Diabetes Support Group
This monthly support group is free for patients who have been seen in our clinic or have participated in one of our classes. A certified diabetes instructor moderates each session and topics vary depending on participant needs.
When: Meets the second Monday of every month at 7 p.m.
Location: PeaceHealth Nutrition and Diabetes Clinic (809 E. Chestnut)
Cost: Free for patients who have been seen in our clinic or have participated in one of our classes.
Register: Registration is not required.
