Meet Our Team
Our comprehensive approach to care has brought together a team of specialists who are experts in their fields. This gives our patients access to a range of expertise and allows us to build individual care teams, addressed to meet each patient’s unique needs.
Care teams are built specific to each patient's individual needs and could include: a physiatrist (rehabilitation doctor), physical therapist, occupational therapist, speech therapist, recreation therapist, dietician, nurse, neuropsychologist or social worker.
Inpatient Rehabilitation patients are cared for by a physiatrist, a physician who specializes in rehabilitation. Our physiatrists provide medical care for patients during their stay and lead our rehabilitation team. A patient's primary care doctor and specialists are consulted, if needed. We all work together to help our patients achieve their rehabilitation goals.
Our admissions coordinators are specially trained to assess if inpatient rehabilitation is the best care setting for each patient's needs. They work with the patient, family, physicians, social workers and insurance company to develop a plan for meeting the patient’s rehabilitation needs. It is important to us that the patient and family are included in the process. Our goal is to provide adequate information about acute rehabilitation and other options. This helps the patient and family make an informed decision that supports their ongoing recovery and best use of their resources. Admission coordinators provide ongoing collaboration with the patient’s insurance throughout the rehabilitation stay.
Social workers work closely with patients and their families in planning for discharge. This planning includes arranging for home assistance, if needed, or for transfer to other health care facilities, when appropriate. The social worker can be available to the patient and family to assist with their concerns and to provide additional community resource information if needed.
