7 Step Program

If you are a candidate for joint replacement surgery, PeaceHealth Southwest’s Bone and Joint Center has an extraordinary program to help you. Called the Joint Journey, we've discovered a way to make your experience as stress-free as possible, so you can concentrate on getting back to what you enjoy most.

Between our new orthopedic unit in the award-winning Firstenburg Tower and our Rebound Total Joint Center in the Physicians Pavilion, we have some of the nation’s finest facilities and renowned physicians.

The seven steps of the Joint Journey program are:
  1. The journey begins: getting a good diagnosis
  2. The warm up: pre-op
  3. The big day: surgery
  4. The hospital course: start moving
  5. The road home: being ready to return to home
  6. The bridge to recovery: support materials and therapy
  7. The journey continues: discover your path
We strongly encourage support from your friends and family. Your "coach" is someone who can help you after your surgery. Identifying this important person early will help you make your surgery and recovery a success.

We invite you to attend one of our upcoming Arthritis 101 classes (held monthly) to provide education about the different types of arthritis. Or, we offer an ongoing Joint Journey orientation class for hip and knees. You can also download our Joint Journey Journals (hip or knee) to get a easy-to-read guide of what to expect.
