What is the Gift of Healing
2010?
The
Gift of Healing 2010 will provide minimally invasive surgery
equipment and a new operating table designed for a wide range of
procedures.
Minimally invasive surgery is performed through
small incisions through which a tiny camera and other instruments
are inserted. The camera projects images on a screen to guide the
surgeon. At the end the incisions are sutured and bandaged. A
nickname for minimally invasive
surgery is “Band-Aid” surgery.

The new state of the art technology will ...
-
Dramatically improve image resolution resulting
in far superior diagnostic clarity.
-
Improve detection, diagnosis and prognosis of
some cancers and other diseases.
-
In some cases, will reduce the need to perform
more invasive surgeries.
-
Provide a second set of laparoscopy equipment,
improving scheduling.
-
Increase the range of services available
locally.
