Smart Track Friends and family of those going through surgery at Peace Harbor Hospital can now follow their loved one’s progress online. The hospital has started a color-coded online tracking system that shows when patients are in different phases of surgery, from admitting to recovery. But just like tracking a package through the mail, people need to know the patient’s code. Patients are identified on the system by a number, which is given to them when they’re admitted. Patients can then share the number with friends and family. Relatives and friends will still get news on the outcome of the surgery and other important information from hospital staff, but the tracking system will show when the patient reaches each stage of surgery. The SmarTrack system is available on a screen in the Surgery Center waiting area and it’s also available online at http://www.peacehealth.org/siuslaw. The hospital’s nursing staff lets the system know where patients are by updating the patient’s computer record. Please note that Peace Harbor staff may not share the patient ID number with anyone other than the patient. As you move through the surgery process, the row with your patient ID number will display different text and colors based on where you are located. ![]() Patient ID: This is a unique six-digit number designed to help protect your privacy. This number is not your medical record number. Surgeon: The surgeon scheduled to perform your surgery. Current Location: The location or step that you are currently in:
Estimated End Time: This is the estimated time that a surgery is expected to end. This is an estimate only and reflects the time scheduled to end if the surgery starts as scheduled. OK to Visit: When this box changes orange, it is OK for your family or friend’s to visit with you. We ask that visitors be limited to no more than 2 people at one time. If your family and friends become concerned about the waiting time, or if they have any questions about the tracking screens, they may use the waiting room phone to call extension 6011 for more information. |
