The 100k Lives Campaign had the goal of deploying six proven interventions on a very broad scale to save an estimated 100,000 lives by June 14, 2006. This goal was exceeded by 22,300, but the campaign continues:
The 5 Million Lives Campaign is a voluntary initiative to protect patients from five million incidents of medical harm over the next two years (December 2006 – December 2008).
