Walk through a 27-foot-wide inflatable heart at annual Heart Fair!

On Fri., Feb. 10, and Sat., Feb. 11, Oregon Heart & Vascular Institute at Sacred Heart Medical Center will bring a gigantic inflatable human heart to Center Court at Valley River Center as part of the Institute’s 11th annual Heart Fair.

The 27-foot-wide heart is a walk-through, inflatable replica of the human heart that educates visitors on the anatomical features of the heart as well as common heart diseases. The exhibit includes informational stations, each highlighting a different aspect of the heart, as well a heartbeat you can hear when walking through the display.

On Fri., Feb. 10, area school groups will tour the heart from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Experts from Oregon Heart & Vascular Institute will also talk to the students about the links between heart health and nutrition and exercise.

The exhibit is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Fri., Feb. 10, and Sat., Feb. 11.

February is American Heart Month, a time to focus on the prevention of cardiovascular diseases, the nation’s number one killer. In addition to the inflatable heart display, the free Heart Fair event features health information, screenings, prizes and more.
