Maxillofacial Surgery

Oral and maxillofacial surgeons are trained and uniquely qualified to diagnose and treat facial trauma. They deliver emergency room coverage for facial injuries, intra oral lacerations, knocked out teeth, fractured facial bones and fractured jaws.

Procedures include:

  • Extractions
  • Wisdom teeth removal
  • Dental implants
  • Jaw reconstructive surgery
  • Facial trauma surgery
  • Oral pathology
  • Treatment of TMJ

Corrective Jaw Surgery

Orthognathic (corrective jaw) surgery is needed when jaws don't meet correctly and/or teeth don't seem to fit with jaws. Teeth are straightened with orthodontics and corrective jaw surgery repositions a misaligned jaw. This not only improves facial appearance, but also ensures that teeth meet correctly and function properly. Le Fort osteotomy is the procedure often recommended for corrective jaw surgery.
