Center of Excellence
The Oregon Bariatric Center has been designated a Center of Excellence by the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.
What does that mean for patients? In a word: Confidence. Confidence that our program meets the highest quality and safety standards
As a Center of Excellence, the Oregon Bariatric Center helps to promote safety and advocacy. By offering comprehensive services to our patients, performing data tracking and analysis, our program promotes patient safety.
This designation publicly honors us as being the best of the best. In becoming a Center of Excellence, our program has held itself up to some of the highest standards in the industry. The designation confirms our comprehensive commitment to a high level of bariatric care.
To earn a Center of Excellence designation, the Oregon Bariatric Center underwent a series of site inspections during which all aspects of the program’s surgical processes were closely examined and data on health outcomes was collected.
Our Quality Commitment
More than 600 patients have completed surgical weight loss programs at the Oregon Bariatric Center since it opened in 2006. Research has shown that even a 10 percent loss of excess body weight results in significant improvements in diabetes, hypertension, sleep apnea and other key co-morbidities. Increased percentage of weight loss typically correlates directly with ongoing health improvements.
