Creswell clinic welcomes Dr. Lyle Torguson
PeaceHealth Medical Group's Creswell Clinic is rolling out the welcome mat in January for Dr. Lyle Torguson, a Family Practice Physician who's spent the last six years with PHMG's Cottage Grove clinic.
"I look forward to getting to know the wonderful people of Creswell," Dr. Torguson said. "I'm also really looking forward to assisting with the leadership and stability of this wonderful gem of a clinic. Becoming a permanent part of the Creswell clinic will allow me to enjoy the flexibility that a smaller clinic has to offer."
Before joining South Lane Medical Group in 2005, Dr. Torguson practiced family medicine and psychiatry in Minnesota for 15 years. He was an associate professor in family medicine at the University of Minnesota during that same time period. A nationally known speaker on mental health and bipolar disorder, Dr. Torguson was the only primary care physician appointed to the Minnesota Advisor Board on Mental Health by the governor in 2000.
He spent the latter part of his childhood and most of his adult life in Minnesota, earning his medical degree at the University of Minnesota Medical School.
“I like to think outside the box when dealing with unusual medical conditions," he said of his approach to patient care. "Being open to any possibility and listening carefully to my patients allows me to provide the best possible care.”
Dr. Torguson enjoys spending time with his wife and dog, and tries to do "something creative" every day, whether it be taking photos of nature, painting, sculpting or woodworking.
