Eugene Emeralds, PHMG team up to keep kids active over summer
Children accompanied by parents are invited to join Eugene Emeralds staff, players and coaches, along with PeaceHealth Medical Group (PHMG) pediatricians, for a hike along the river trail behind Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 18. The event is part of the Sluggo Fitness Challenge, a partnership between PHMG and the Eugene Emeralds to encourage kids to stay active and physically fit.
The event is free and is a fun way for parents and their kids to enjoy time together while being active. At the end of the walk, in front of RiverBend Pavilion, kids and their parents will be treated to a light, healthy lunch. In addition, parents will be able to pick up information about packing healthy lunches, as well as recipes that they can use when kids go back to school in September.
