PeaceHealth Hires Inter Island Medical Center Staff, New ARNP IIMC’s Pat Davis to Say ‘Farewell’

PeaceHealth welcomes Inter Island Medical Center (IIMC) practitioners as PeaceHealth caregivers as of Thursday, March 1.

In March 2009, San Juan County Public Hospital District #1 commissioners approved a long-term agreement with PeaceHealth to significantly expand healthcare services for San Juan County residents. That agreement set in motion PeaceHealth Peace Island Medical Center, a 10-bed critical access hospital, as well as a new, expanded primary care and specialty clinic, expanded diagnostic and treatment services and a 24-hour emergency department.

Once construction is complete, in late Fall, Peace Island Medical Center will increase the number of physicians serving District residents, including part time visiting specialists, and will nearly double the number of other healthcare professionals serving the community.

Beginning March 1, Susan Mahoney, MD; Michael Wingren, MD; Rachel Bishop, MD; Douglas Tuttle, MD; and Loren Johnson, MD will be PeaceHealth Medical Group caregivers. Also March 1, Pat Davis, a board-certified Physician Assistant who has been serving the community with IIMC since May 2010, will leave to return to Arizona.

In June, Kimberlee Van Der Kolk, MSN, CLEC, will join the Peace Island Medical Center team. Van Der Kolk, who received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Mount St. Mary’s College in Brentwood, Calif., most recently worked as a Family Nurse Practitioner and has experience in Trauma and Emergency Medicine.
