PeaceHealth in Florence is expanding diabetes education services

7/7/2014

(Florence, Ore)— PeaceHealth is expanding diabetes education services by offering Shared Medical Appointments or Group Visits.   These visits are voluntary for patients and provide both a  secure and interactive setting in which patients with chronic conditions have improved access to their physicians, the benefit of counseling with additional members of a health care team such as a nutritionist or health educator, and can share experiences and advice with one another.

The American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) believes that group visits are a proven, effective method for enhancing a patient’s self-care of chronic conditions, increasing patient satisfaction, and improving outcomes.  These shared medical appointments will include ten people that meet once a month starting July 18, 2014 at PeaceHealth Medical Group in Florence.  Doctors Boespflug and Hodulik will bring their expertise into the group appointments and will address the needs of each individual in this group setting.  If you or someone you know would like to get more information about this program, please call 541-902-6585.
