What we offer
Our 16 private birthing suites help you feel at home during your entire birthing experience, from labor and delivery through recovery. Your
support person and family are welcome. A day bed is provided for your partner or coach. Each room has a TV/VCR, a shower, a private phone, and meals and snacks available for the mother around the clock.
We provide a wide range of options to help birthing mothers have the childbirth experience she wants. Birth balls, squatting bars, a Jacuzzi tub, rocking chairs, and adjustable beds with lumbar support are particularly helpful to those choosing non-medicated pain relief. Childbirth anesthesia is available 24 hours a day and includes patient-controlled epidural anesthesia (PCEA) for labor discomfort.

To ensure a safe, healthy delivery, each of our birthing suites is supported by state-of-the-art medical equipment and procedures. They include an ambulatory fetal monitoring system, allowing the mother freedom of movement during monitoring of her baby. |
Should the need arise, our two Cesarean delivery rooms are located right down the hall from the birthing rooms, and a neonatologist specializing in the care of newborns is available 24 hours a day in our Level III
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit for high risk newborns and
premature infants. The Unit includes 36 private private rooms for patient families.
After the birth, mother and baby are cared for by the same nurse in our
32-room Mother-Baby area, where they receive individualized attention from birth through early breastfeeding and baby care. These rooms are also furnished with
day beds for a support person and TV/VCRs, with which new parents can view the Newborn Channel, offering up-to-date information on baby care and breastfeeding 24 hours a day.
Personalized breastfeeding support from certified lactation consultants is available every day. With our Hugs Infant Protection System, bracelets worn by each newborn baby automatically trigger an alarm and lock the doors if the baby is carried too close to any exit, and video cameras provide additional security.
Newborn screening is part of getting a good start. Metabolic testing for Phenylketonuria
(PKU) is routinely provided as well as non-invasive transcutaneous bilirubin testing to screen all newborns for jaundice. Hearing and blood sugar may also be tested if the need arises.
