Zach Melick

VANCOUVER, Wash. – PeaceHealth director of business transformation Zach Melick has been named a national recipient of the Catholic Health Association’s Tomorrow’s Leaders award for 2023.

The national award honors dedicated, high-performing individuals who have demonstrated a strong commitment to advancing the healing mission of Catholic healthcare. Zach will be recognized during CHA’s virtual Catholic Health Assembly in June.

In his leadership role, Zach manages complex, interdisciplinary projects that enhance PeaceHealth’s ability to innovate. His work deals with the responsible stewardship of resources to serve and sustain PeaceHealth’s Mission, and he has been instrumental in bringing a data-driven, continuous improvement model to business operations. Zach was instrumental in all aspects of PeaceHealth’s COVID-19 pandemic response, helping its incident command team make evidence-based decisions in alignment with the Catholic health system’s Mission and Values. The dashboards and data-tracking tools created to manage work throughout COVID-19 are proving valuable for ongoing operations.

PeaceHealth Executive Vice President and Chief Business and Technology Officer Steve Glenn said, “Zach is a servant leader first, humble, earnest and always thoughtful. I have found him to be a crucial part of our team and no matter what challenge I put before him, he inevitably tackles it with grace, skill and ingenuity. He exemplifies all the attributes of a CHA Tomorrow’s Leader.”

Before joining PeaceHealth, Zach was a consultant for East Coast startups in the clinical reference laboratory space. His small firm built a world-class toxicology laboratory from a business proposal to a thriving operation in less than a year, generating $3M+ in annual revenue. When he moved to the Pacific Northwest, Zach sought out a purpose-driven career, making an intentional decision to remain in healthcare but on the nonprofit side, bringing a startup mindset to impact systemwide clinical excellence in service to PeaceHealth’s Mission.
