Housing For Patients' Families

We want you to be comfortable while you're in town

Rotary House of Ketchikan, Inc.

Because we know a lot of people come to Ketchikan to seek medical care, be it elective surgery, specialty visit or dental care, Rotary 2000 and PeaceHealth Ketchikan Medical Center joined together to create a low-cost housing alternative.

Rotary House of Ketchikan, Inc., is a local non-profit organization consisting of three condominium units (#317, #610 and #611) located at the Mary Francis Building in downtown Ketchikan.

The Mary Francis Building is a secured facility from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. and all day on Sunday. A key card is required to gain access to the building at these times. The condominiums are located near the bus service as well as local grocery stores and other merchants. The condominiums are fully furnished and equipped with kitchenettes. Unit 610 is handicapped accessible.

Who Can Rent These Units?

Anyone traveling to Ketchikan to seek medical care may rent the units. There is no limitation on the length of stay. If an expecting mom needs to be in Ketchikan two weeks prior to her due date, she can rent one of the units until the birth of her baby and beyond. Family members of hospital patients are also welcome to rent the units.

The condominiums will be rented on a first come, first served basis. Handicapped individuals will receive first consideration for the handicapped accessible unit.

The units are private and individuals will be responsible for providing their own care. Emergency medical care can only be obtained through use of the local emergency number—911.

How Much Does It Cost?

Unit 317 costs $60.00/night & units 610/611 cost $45.00/night each to rent unless other financial arrangements are made.

Most insurance carriers will cover the cost of an overnight stay. Be sure to check with your insurance company if you want to be reimbursed.

PeaceHealth Ketchikan Medical Center will bill you or your insurance company for the stay. The hospital will also bill Medicaid if you are eligible.

How Do I Make Reservations?

Contact the Administration Department at the hospital by calling (907) 225-5171 or directly (907) 228-8300, extension 7206. The Administration Department will reserve one of the units for you and give you further details regarding use of the Rotary House.

Some rules to remember when considering the Rotary House:
