Dress warmly indoors to prevent cold injury

Wear proper clothing to prevent indoor hypothermia. This may include wearing:

  • A hat or scarf around your head and neck. Up to 80% of total body heat loss is from the head and neck areas.
  • Layers of clothing.
  • Clothing made with wool, polypropylene, down, or Thinsulate. These are good insulators and will prevent loss of body heat.
