If you have been diagnosed with
Parkinson's disease, whether to continue to work is
your personal decision to make. Your choice may depend on how much physical and
emotional stress your job involves. Many people who have Parkinson's disease
can and do continue working.
Most people with Parkinson's disease who continue working tell their
employers about their condition. The disease may or may not affect how you are
able to perform your job. If it does affect your abilities, some employers may
work with you to create new or different opportunities in your job. Others may
not be as accommodating.
